I purchased the Aion CE from Newegg a few weeks ago, as they were one of the last retailers to actually have them in stock. Since they are not on the list of the approved retailers, I wonder if I'm going to be getting the wing emote.

Below are the twitter pages of the Aion CM"s. It might do some good to give em' a tweet and see if they can pull some weight with NCsoft to allow digital copies of the CE to get the wing emote.

Yesterday I sent an email too NC Soft to complain about this same issue. I basically said that informations were omited about the itens included in each "version" of the game and I finished saying that if I knew about the wings emote I surely would not buy the digital CE. Now I am just waiting the answer. If anyone got any sort of answer from NC Soft please post it here ASAP. Thanks.

I only got a confirmation that they received my complaint and that the issue would be escalated to a senior whatever.

I doubt anything more is going to happen or that I will get any other reply. It might help to improve future promotions.

I am just surprised that when GW:EotN came out they encourage online purchases as they make more money and yet now they offer a bonus for retail purchases. One day you get the BMP (Bonus Mission Pack) for buying online, then next you are missing out because of an online purchase. Odd logic.

Retail box vendors will sell more if only they get the wings bonus. NCSoft needs the retail box vendors, so likely the policy will stay as it is.

Not that I care, got a Paragon, for what do I need wings?

Granted I may have been chancing my arm but you'd still expect a somewhat reasonable response.

Tried talking to linsey yesterday (albiet I phrased it pretty badly as I was learning a DTSC run, but she said it wasn't her area and pointed to Sales department, If I remember correctly)

I've always had a good exp. with playNc support tbh so this could just be that one bad time. Trying again none the less.

I think I'm going to do it. Especially since I have nothing of value on my Aion account, I could care less if it was closed forever. Sucks that I'd have to have two NCsoft master accounts, but it's really only the hassle of remembering an extra password.

In short, it is possible to get a refund. If you've made a purchase through the NCsoft store and they tell you that they can't refund you, they're lying. They can do it, you just need to make a new NCsoft master account since I suppose they can't permanently remove the Aion game account from it.

Wait, correct me if I'm wrong on this, but if they were to close your NCSoft Master Account, wouldn't that mean that all the extra bonuses and bought additions attached to your GW would be gone?

What instantly comes to mind is that to get the 4th year anniversary storage, you had to tie your game to the account.

VVV Ah, I think I misread it all after rereading it. Never mind.

From what was stated, they are permanently closing the Aion game account on the NCsoft account. The NCsoft account itself will remain open, just the Aion part of the account is closed. I'm guessing they have no way to remove the Aion account from the NCsoft master account easily.

They should just give the Direct Download people Elyos wings ( the same wings but in white...)

I'd be interested to see what eventually happens. To be honest, I was already kind of wanted to buy the retail box of Aion CE anyway. I was kind of miffed that NCsoft didn't have a physical copy order. I originally settled for the digital copy knowing that at least I'd have access to the game right away instead of waiting for a box to ship. But now I've found other games in the meantime, so the wait won't be bad.

At any rate, I'm still going through with the cancellation. The CE is already really tough to find and if I wait too long and they don't do anything, I might not be able to find it. I've already pre-ordered elsewhere.

Nice to see you had a reply from ncsoft as I am still awaiting mine ..


It looks like a mass of complaints have reached the eyes of support wishing to cancell there accounts hence Regina,s answer to this.

I made myself clear also ito cancell should ncsofts clients be misled/illinformed ect.

I am seriously considering cancelling mines also and made that clear also

I preordered from GAME, the limited Steel Case edition, but I am as yet unsure whether I'll get the wings because there was no mention of the promotion being available in Australia. I've contacted GAME but they haven't got back to me yet.

I hope downunder gets some love.

I'll probably be playing Aion more than Guild Wars anyway, so I dunno if I should care or not.

Then again, it still isn't fair to be screwed for those who purchased digitally. I'll sign a petition if someone makes one.

I'd rather believe it's because I asked her a valid question about it on her talk page. But seriously, yeah, I think they must have had quite a few complaints and realised that maybe it wasn't such a bright idea after all.

From her responses it sounds like it's not something the GW team had any control over, and they're just left dealing with the steaming pile of poo that NCsoft dropped on their heads.

Hope so.If you pre-purchased off steam, Don't bother contacting Nc soft support about a refund. They'll send you to Steam.
